Holding the Media Accountable in Election 2016: A Beginning

Your blog author is far from an expert on the subject of Roger Stone, although he is certainly aware of the name.  The article whose link is below places today's indictment of Stone amidst the dirty tricks of campaign '16.

Ominously, the article also claims the media will go scot-free in its refusal to accept any blame for unfair and unbalanced coverage of Mrs. Clinton in that election so disastrous for America.  Yet, the prospect of media accountability is not entirely bleak as the simple publication of this Salon article portends.  May we all join together in a new push for honesty and contrition on the part of the press.

Politics Heats Up in Mid-Term Election Year

Democrat Lamb Apparent Winner in Pennsylvania Congressional Race

NBC News has declared Conor Lamb the apparent winner in the race for Pennsylvania's 18th Congressional district seat.  The explanation for the call is at the link below.

This apparent win by the Democrat in a district which has been voting Republican for decades indicates changing winds in a hotly-contested race.  Republicans pored millions into this race and have evidently come up empty-handed.

A victory for the American people:

Democratic Party in Transition

The Democratic Party is in a state of transition following the stolen election of 2016.  Most people still don't realize the election was stolen.  So it is priority Number One, to get the news out.  Greg Palast esteemed journalist for Harper's and The London Guardian tells the story so well.

There is a wealth of information on his web site including information on his new film, The Best Democracy Money Can Buy.  The link is right here:    gregpalast.com  .

New York Magazine: A Group of Computer Experts and Lawyers Urge Vote Review

The Hillary Clinton campaign has been urged by a group of computer experts and lawyers to request a formal audit of votes in three states.

The main obstacle seems to be President Obama who wants a "smooth" transition.

This, however, would not stop people from calling the Justice Department to ask for its investigation.

Hillary Clinton Fights Complacency

Robby Mook
The following comes from an e-mail from Robby Mook, manager of the Hillary Clinton campaign, which I just read.

Clearly, this is no time to be complacent.  After the excerpt here, Mr. Mook goes on to urge citizens to donate as donations have begun to taper off.

History shows Hillary Clinton is right to be worried.  America cannot let up the pressure on Trump.

*************

All that money Trump and the Republicans raised for months and didn’t seem to be spending? They're spending it now....   And $140 million in advertising targeted at just a few battleground states plus a new Get Out the Vote operation means I'm going to start losing sleep at night.

Let me explain exactly why I'm worried: Maybe because public polling shows us in a good place, our fundraising has started to taper off. Folks seem to think this race is wrapped up.

We absolutely can’t operate under that assumption.... Especially not as nine figures of negative ads about Hillary are about to be dumped on TV in must-win states.

Ronald Reagan Campaigns for Harry Truman and the Democrats -- Audio

Through the marvelous agency of the Internet, we are able to access audio of Ronald Reagan, then a "liberal" Democrat speaking on the radio on behalf of Harry Truman and the Democratic ticket in 1948.

For those of us who remember Reagan railing against every Democrat he could, this is truly startling to listen to.  Just what happened to Reagan between 1948 and the early 1960's, say?

Surely, Reagan was sincere in this audio.  I particularly like the criticism of the Taft-Hartley law, legislation which is still on the books in its essential form.

Listen to this audio and be inspired -- if you can -- or simply informed.

GOP Seeks to Rig Electoral College Vote

Unable to win the Presidency for two votes in a row, and struggling again this year, the GOP is trying to rig the process by apportioning Electoral College votes based on Congressional Districts.  Due to gerrymandering, Congressional districting has already been rigged.  Basing Electoral votes on gerrymandered districts would only extend the rigging to the national level.  Read more here:
